so first off, after a couple weeks back on the job I am getting switched to a different job site. other than being in the company of people I have grown to distrust things aren't all that bad. that's not taking into account The Christman company and their Nazi-esque rule policy. back when I worked there this spring it was a typical job, with the added aspect of no smoking (due to city laws) and No radios, which is a typical christman thing. then some bean counting douche bag decided that based on some study people are more productive if they start at 7:30..whatever. then they decided in addition to no smoking, there would be no chewing tobacco. no big deal doesn't affect me. this building consists of a 9 story renovation with a 4 story new addition. now they say no more food or drink or taking breaks and lunches in the new building. so if i am working on the 7th floor of the old building to take a damn lunch i have to walk down the stairs, across the building, through a small lot, into the new building and up stairs to the "designated break area". do you think the workers get extra time for this, on lunches or breaks? fuck no.
Fuckin Nazi's. some ambitious soul made a bunch of posters similar to ww2 Nazi propaganda flyers citing all the above complaints and hung them up all over the job site on the day that the corporate people were conducting a tour. Good job ol' boy.
The day prior to my last day I rode the big bike from the city lot where we park (over the river and through the ghetto) and somehow I managed to leave my "Man purse" messenger bag in the parking lot in downtown shittsville. In the bag were a pair of prescription safety glasses $160, my new Princeton headlamp, nice for tall biking in the wee hours of the morning $35, a good pair of gloves $30, my Kleen Kanteen bottle $24, $20 worth of tools and the remnants of my lunch which i don't have much time to eat on account of the Fucking Nazis. the rest of the stuff gets transported in the bag since the designated break area is an 8 minute walk/stair climb at the end of the day....
Somehow, someone was nice enough to move my bag to a slightly conspicuous spot next to a parking sign. all the goods were still intact. nice to know someone somewhere is looking out for me.
and tomorrow i go to work for a person that pretty much ranks on my scale somewhere about the level of infectious puss dripping from a septic wound. but I'm working
